芬蘭境內的Rovaniemiv相傳是聖誕老人的故鄉,在這裡,聖誕老人在自己的辦公室中處理來自世界各地的郵件業務……^^~

聖誕老人(Santa Claus)的前身為西元四是祭拜占庭的主教聖尼可拉斯(St.Nicholas),聖尼可拉斯常常幫助貧困的人,有一次他送了三袋黃金給一戶貧苦人家的三位兒女當嫁妝,其中一袋黃金掉進了放在璧爐旁等待烤乾的襪子中,流傳下來後,許多小朋友都會在壁爐旁掛襪子,等待聖誕老人的禮物.
聖誕老公公的故事家喻戶曉,對大人們而言,聖誕老人與聖誕樹下的禮物絕對是童年最美好滴回憶之ㄧ.對小孩們來說,每年年底的聖誕節,乘著馴鹿所拉的雪橇來自北方遙遠國度,帶來期盼已久的聖誕禮物的聖誕老公公,不只是童年故事中的角色,而是真有這號人物,只有乖小孩會收到聖誕老公公送的禮物…….大多數的人都認為這是小孩的天真想法,但對曾經到過芬蘭北部,北極圈內的小鎮羅凡尼米(Rovaniemi)的旅人而言,也許會有不同的看法唷!
北緯66度是條被當地居民視為”Magical Line”,有著神奇魔力的緯線,位於這條北極線以北即為北極圈,冬至當天一整天見不到太陽的蹤影,夏至時,子夜的太陽卻仍高掛天空的正中央.北極圈奇特的天文景觀,每年都吸引了為數眾多的遊客前來欣賞難得一見的奇景,而剛好位於北極線上的聖誕老人村(Santa Claus’Village)更是遊客們的最愛.
